Withdrawn navigation devices from Garmin

Garmin has announced the recall of approximately 1.25 million navigation devices that have been marketed in recent years. The withdrawal plan is universal, although the vast majority of appliances were sold in the United States. As often happens in such cases, the problem is the battery, namely the temperatures developed.

Garmin says that these batteries are overheating and there is a risk of ignition. So far at least 10 reported incidents of overheating, without resulting in injuries or major damage.

The models recalled are 200W, 250W, and 260W, 7xx and 7xxT. To assist customers, Garmin has created a special site, where the user puts the device serial number, and see whether there is a problem.
